Tire Rack USA has evaluated the new ContiProContact vs
Michelin Energy MXV4 Plus vs Bridgestone Turanza LS-H vs
Goodyear Eagle RS-A in 205/55R16 on a new BMW 325i.

This test was carried out on 22nd July 2005

Summary

Overall Conti (6.94) & Bridgestone (6.95) performed best followed by Michelin (6.74)
and lastly Goodyear (6.3). While Bridgestone scored 6.95 & Conti 6.94,
this is not statistically significant difference, so they "are equal" on this test.

ContiProContact™ features Continental's latest Silica-enhanced tread compound molded into a unique tread pattern, where curved grooves and sipes replace the traditional notched and blocky all-season tread pattern of older designs. *ContiProContact™ produced the least amount of tread and impact noise when driving across the
rougher portions of our ride route.

*ContiProContact™ handled better on the road than the Bridgestone Turanzas.

*ContiProContact™ had a nice blend of steering response and overall grip, making it very easy
to control when pressed hard

Extra Product Info:

Continental ContiProContact™ (Grand Touring All-Season): The ContiProContact is Continental's Grand Touring All-Season tyre used as Original Equipment on European sport sedans. The ContiProContact™ was developed to blend looks and handling with low noise and good ride comfort, and is tuned to match the needs of sporty sedans by providing year-round traction, even in light snow.

On the outside, the ContiProContact™ features a symmetric, notched-rib tread design to blend low noise with foul weather traction. Continuous tread contact with the road enhances steering response and reduces noise while wide circumferential grooves increase wet traction and hydroplaning resistance. On the inside, twin steel belts are reinforced by spiral-wrapped nylon cord to stabilize the tread area promoting handling and high-speed capability.

The ContiProContact™ tyre's sidewall styling features subtle black letters reversed out of a stylized serrated band.
